Joslyn Art Museum receives NAC Grant

The Nebraska Arts Council awarded the Joslyn Art Museum a grant for more than $39,000.

Hillary Nather-Detisch, Director of Development for the Joslyn, says the grant will support the museum’s upcoming exhibits and their education and outreach programming through June 2016.

Nather-Detisch says the grant helps Joslyn do what they do best in connecting people with art.

She says for each of the temporary, special exhibits the Joslyn displays each year, there is special exhibition- related programming offered to the community.

"And we offer our programming to five demographic areas: schools, teachers and technology, teens, adults, families and youths and then community outreach as a whole.  So all of our programming that happens daily with all of those different demographic groups is what that grant really helps to support.  And in general, it helps us make sure that we get out there and get as many people access to the museum and keep it as accessible as possible.”

Nather-Detisch says some of the programs the grant will help support include lectures, gallery talks, book discussions and the Symphony Joslyn concert series.
