The KANEKO’s new music series continues February 9 with folk and classical music.
Eko Nova’s third concert is called “Fiddle ‘n Blues.” The concerts feature a mix of local and national musicians. John Klinghammer, creative director for Eko Nova, hopes the series dispels misconceptions about new music.
"They come up with some image in their head of really awful, loud sound, and esoteric notes that don’t make any sense to them. And I think what many people don’t realize is the music being written today by the most successful and interesting composers, it’s very successful and very interesting and inspiring and really kind of plugged in to the world around us."
Fiddle ‘n Blues features two works by composer and violinist Mark O’Connor and includes four members of the Omaha Symphony.
