Kent Bellows' exhibit at Creighton will debut several artworks

An exhibit of the artwork of the late Kent Bellows will be on view at Creighton University’s Lied Art Gallery March 14th through April 14th.

The pieces all come from the collection of Creighton alumnus Ross Bellinghiere, DDS and his wife Kathleen.

Ross says he and his wife owned a total of 55 pieces created by Kent Bellows at one time but have since donated four to the Joslyn Art Museum, one to the Bemis and 11 to Creighton.

He says this exhibit includes many pieces that have never been displayed for the public before.

"Of the collection we are bringing, there are five paintings and the rest are all drawings. Some drawings graphite on paper, some charcoal on paper.  And then of course there are four lithographs that he worked on.”

Bellinghiere says he believes when people come to see the collection of Kent Bellows’ work they will be enthralled by it.

He says the pieces speak to everyone from those who don’t understand art to people that totally appreciate art.

A gallery reception is set for Friday, April 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, the website is Creighton.edu.
