A significant trumpeter to arise in the last ten years, Christian Scott has released an ambitious new 2 CD set that heralds his new name and identity. "Christian Atunde Adjuah" , a traditional African name that has been adopted by the trumpeter, is also the name of this latest release. Scott says he seeks to "stretch" jazz to encompass new musical forms. Inspired by his hometown, New Orleans, Scott paints a turbulent & passionate musical story. The songs are often inspired by injustices, "Liar Liar" is inspired the deception filled end of a relationship. 23 tracks comprise the thoughtful program which features Scott with guitarist Matthew Stevens, drummer Jamire Williams, bassist Kris Funn and pianist Lawrence Fields as well as special guests. Scott's best release to date, this is a powerful, personal statement. For more information you may visit the artist's website at http://christianscott.tv/
