Omaha, NE – Today, Omaha by Design and the Omaha Public Art Commission are launching a new web site called publicartomaha.org.

Connie Spellman, Director of Omaha by Design, says the new site is a celebration of the city's public art offerings. Spellman says, "If you know of a particular piece, you can search for the name of that piece. You can search for that piece and it will tell you where it's located, what the materials are, what the medium it is, who the artist was, so you will have all kinds of information and then you can map it."

Spellman says another feature of the web site is the projects page, where individuals may learn about public art projects in the city, including the J. Doe Project and the Take a Seat program.

There will be a public celebration of the new site this evening from 6:00 to 7:30 in the Bemis Center. Everyone is invited to attend.
