Lauritzen flower show based on Opera Omaha production
By Katie Knapp
Omaha, NE – The annual Lauritzen Gardens flower show is based on the upcoming 50th anniversary production of Aida by Opera Omaha. Omaha artist Catherine Ferguson designed the sets, artwork and costumes for the production with a lotus flower theme. That theme is the focal point of the "Nature's Inspiration" flower show. Lauritzen spokesman Jenny Lemmerman says the flower show features a lush, tropical environment modeled after the Nile River, with aquatic plants and large trees. Lemmerman says this is the first time the flower show has been coordinated with a production. "Nature's Inspiration" continues through May 11.
