Republican Congressman Lee Terry has won his 8th term in the U.S House.
The incumbent beat challenger Democrat John Ewing, Douglas County Treasurer, in yesterday’s (Tuesday’s) election.
Terry is a former Omaha City Councilman, who was first elected to congress in 1999.
He says he believes in having an open door and open communication with constituents.
"Enough people trusted me to do the right things for our country and to work to turn our economy around so more families can get back to work and support themselves.”
Terry is set to go back to Washington DC next Tuesday for the lame duck session.
He says with the election over, he’s hoping Congress can get past their gridlock and work on resolving critically important issues.
