Lincoln mayor, residents discuss creative ideas, well-being

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The mayor of Lincoln, an artist, a philosophy student and other residents have come together to discuss how the creation of creative spaces improves health and well-being.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports that the Placemaking for Wellbeing discussion took place Sunday.

Mayor Chris Beutler says the city is making an effort to collect creative ideas and create spaces where people can come together and be inspired. According to Beutler, the connection between the arts and the well-being of a community is often lost.

The mayor and event organizer Nick Hernandez agree that people contributing their creative ideas has a positive impact on personal health and the health of the city.
