Loessfest 2014 kicks off Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, May 25th.
Larry Foster, Director of Parks, Recreation and Public Property for Council Bluffs, says the event, which began last year, was part of an effort to open the new Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park with a celebration.
Foster says the event drew over 30,000 people in three weeks.
He says the hallmark event was a concert by the Beach Boys.
This year, Loessfest will feature three bands.
"We have Loverboy, the Guess Who and Three Dog Night, all together in one show. So we think it’s going to be three times the fun. It’s a large park with a beautiful view of the Omaha skyline and there are lots of places for kids to play and run. It’s a family event, so there’s lots of things to do in the park.”
American National Bank is the presenting sponsor for Loessfest 2014.
