Man sentenced to prison for November shooting death in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A 31-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to up to 70 years for the shooting death of his estranged friend.

Kenneth Armour Junior was sentenced Wednesday in Douglas County District Court to 50 to 60 years for second-degree murder in the Nov. 5 shooting death of 30-year-old Michael Stubbs. Armour also got 10 years for a weapons count in the case.

Investigators testified an argument that began on Facebook between the two men led to the fatal shooting in northwest Omaha. Stubbs identified Armour as the shooter before he died. Police said the two men had been friends, but had a falling out over a woman.

Armour had originally been charged with first-degree murder, but pleaded guilty earlier this year to second-degree murder in a deal with prosecutors.
