Omaha, Nebraska – Composer/pianist Mary Louise Knutson is bringing her band to the area this week and weekend for three performances.

The Mary Louise Knutson Trio is Mary Louise Knutson, piano; Graydon Peterson, bass and Jay Epstein on drums.

The trio performs Thursday night at the Fox Theatre in McCook, Nebraska. Showtime is 7:30PM at the theatre at 414 Norris Street in McCook.

On Friday night the trio will perform at the First Lutheran Church in Fremont, Nebraska. Showtime is 7:30pm at the church at 3200 East Military Avenue in Fremont.

Saturday night the trio will perform at Harlan Community High School in Harlan, Iowa. Showtime is 7:30pm at the high school at 2102 Durant Street in Harlan.

Mary Louise Knutson is an accomplished composer and pianist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2005, she was selected as one of five finalists in the Kennedy Center's Mary Lou Williams "Women in Jazz" Pianist Competition. Last year, Knutson was nominated for "Jazz Artist of the Year" and "Pianist of the Year" for the Minnesota Music Awards. Mary Louise has performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Von Freeman, Dianne Reeves, and many others.
Mary Louise Knutson has worked regularly as a pianist for vocalist Connie Evingson. With Evingson she made a recording entitled "Let it Be Jazz: Connie Evingson Sings the Beatles".
Knutson's debut jazz trio CD, "Call Me When You Get There", charted in the Top 50 in the United States and Canada for eight consecutive weeks following its recent release.
