Omaha, NE – All members of Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle's staff will take eight furlough days between September and December.
A news release from the Mayor's office says the staff voluntarily agreed to the furlough days, which begin September eighth. The City's Finance Department estimates that'll save $30,000 this fiscal year.
In addition, new Finance Director Pam Spaccarotella will take a $40,000 pay cut. That'll bring her salary to $140,000 a year.
Last week, city officials announced that Omaha's 2009 budget deficit now stands at 12 million dollars.
