MCC at Do Space hosts its second Sustainability Event

Metropolitan Community College at Do Space will host the second installment of its Claire M. Hubbard Sustainability Series on Wednesday, March 28th.

The event takes place from 4-6 p.m. on the second floor of Do Space.

Chris Swanson, Manager of MCC at Do Space, says the event will focus on trees and their importance to the environment.

Swanson says there will be three dynamic speakers presenting their perspective on trees.  Each one represents a different level of the topic.

"We have a certified arborist, she’s really local, engaged in fighting the emerald ash borer here in Omaha. We have the Executive Director of Fontenelle Forest coming and talking about forests and their regional impact. And then we also have the President of the Arbor Day Foundation coming to talk about the Arbor Day’s work and involvement at a national and international level with trees.”

A Q&A session will follow the speakers’ presentations.  The event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
