Men of Distinction Conference set for Monday

Helping male African-American and Latino high school students create a personal action plan consisting of self-improvement and success.

That’s the primary goal of the 4th annual Men of Distinction Conference.

Fred Conley, Director on Metropolitan Community College Board, says the 11th and 12th graders who attend will have opportunities to participate in workshops on leadership, goal setting and safety and success.   He says hopes the students who attend walk away understanding the importance of education in their career as well as in building their character.

"And the things they need to be acquiring to be successful.  Things that will make them successful like leadership, personal grooming, being able to converse, making friends and networking as they move through life.”

The Men of Distinction Conference takes place all day Monday at Metro’s Fort Omaha Campus.  Details are available by calling 402-457-2661.
