President Obama’s second term and foreign policy in the Middle East are among the topics that’ll be discussed at a forum Thursday in Omaha.
UNO hosts the monthly Middle East Forum. During his State of the Union address Tuesday night, President Obama said “We will stand steadfast with Israel in pursuit of security and a lasting peace.” The President will travel to Israel next month.
Curtis Hutt, Visiting Assistant Professor in UNO’s Religious Studies Department and moderator of the Middle East Forum, says this month’s discussion will also focus on why some Middle East countries have stable governments, while others have had turmoil.
UNO’s Middle East Forum begins at noon Thursday in the Milo Bail Student Center. It’s open to the public.
