Midnight Movies return to Dundee Theater

Midnight Movies are returning to the Dundee Theater starting next month.  The Dundee Theater reopened after extensive renovation at the beginning of December.

Patrick Kinney, Communications Director for Film Streams, says Midnight Movies will screen at the theater on the last Friday of the month and will begin at 11:55 p.m.

Kinney says Andy Helmkamp, House manager at the Dundee Theater and an editor at the film site Bloody Good Horror will guide audiences through the movies.

"In the last incarnation of the Dundee Theater, starting in 2000, it was a staple.  Every Friday night, there was a big crowd would be there to see something weird, something retro, something fun, whatever the mood really struck the programmers.  It’s a fond memory for so many people and when we first announced our Dundee project, it was one of the first questions we got and it was a frequent question, ‘Are the Midnight Movies coming back?,’ ‘When are the Midnight Movies coming back?’”

On January 26th, a showing of George A. Romero’s CREEPSHOW will kick off the return of the Midnight Movies series.

February will feature a special screening of GROUNDHOG DAY on February 2nd as well as THE FLY on February 23rd.  STREETS OF FIRE will be screened on March 30th,  rounding out the spring offerings.
