Nebraska GOP leaders disappointed Cruz didn't endorse Trump

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Some of Nebraska's top Republican leaders say they're disappointed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz refused to endorse Donald Trump as the party's presidential nominee.

Republican National Convention delegate Bob Evnen said Thursday that Cruz's decision was "unfortunate," considering that Trump gave him a high-profile speaking slot in an effort to unify the party.

Delegate J.L. Spray says Cruz's decision made him look bad, but he doubts it will have a long-term impact on Cruz.

Gov. Pete Ricketts, who is attending the convention in Cleveland, says Trump's defeated opponents need to line up behind the nominee to present a united front in the general election against Democrat Hillary Clinton.

He says the dispute is "something that needs to be worked out" between Trump and Cruz.
