Nebraska officials to certify election results next week

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska election officials are set to meet next week to certify the results of the statewide general election.

The Nebraska State Board of Canvassers will convene on Dec. 5 in the governor's hearing room at the Capitol. The board will approve results certified by county officials for local, state and federal races.

The results to be certified include the statewide vote to reinstate the death penalty after lawmakers abolished it, congressional races and legislative contests. The board is also expected to certify Republican Donald Trump's win in Nebraska in the presidential race.
