Nebraska Primary Registration Deadline is Monday

The Nebraska primary is coming up on Tuesday, May 10th.

Although some may think of it as the Republican Presidential primary, Douglas County Election Commissioner, Brian Kruse stresses that the Democratic Presidential candidates and many candidates for local office are on the ballot as well, and that all registered voters should participate.

"Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Non-Partisans, should all come out to vote on May 10th.   There are many local elections, such as NRD Boards, MUD, OPPD, certain school boards, certain legislative districts, and other local races that all registered voters across Douglas County should come out and vote for.  This truly is your opportunity to hear your voice be heard, and it is Democracy in action.”

Kruse reminds everyone that Monday, May 2nd is the last day to register to vote in the primary, which now must be done in person at the Douglas County Election Commission office, 225 N. 115th Street.

The deadline for the election office to receive requests for early voting ballots is Wednesday May 4th.
