Nebraska tax receipts in October close to estimates

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A new report says Nebraska netted about $231 million in tax revenue in October, roughly on pace with projections for the month.

Net tax receipts for the month were less than 1 percent higher than the state's official forecast of $229 million.

The forecasts come from the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board during its meeting in April.

Board members offered a cautiously optimistic view of the state economy during their meeting last month, and projected the state will collect an additional $46 million for the current fiscal year. The state only certifies its projections if revenue is expected to drop.
