Nebraska's March jobless rate of 2.6 pct still lowest in US

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A new report says Nebraska's unemployment rate of 2.6 percent last month remained the lowest in the nation.

The Nebraska Labor Department said in the report released Tuesday that the preliminary March rate dropped a tenth of a point from the revised February rate of 2.7 percent and is eight-tenths of a point under the March 2014 rate of 3.4 percent.

The new Nebraska figure remains well below the preliminary national unemployment rate of 5.5 percent in March. U.S. Labor Department figures say Nebraska was trailed by North Dakota at 3.1 percent and Utah at 3.4 percent.
