Nebraska's Primary is next week

The Nebraska Primary will be held next Tuesday, May 10th

Paul Landow, Assistant Professor of Political Science at UNO, says at this point, the nominations are pretty well set for the state of Nebraska.

He says Hillary Clinton will get the democratic nomination and Donald Trump is likely to be the Republican nominee.

Landow says everyone should still come out and vote Tuesday because in addition to the presidential candidates, voters will give their input on everything from directors of public utilities to county board races, school board elections and the Nebraska State Legislature.

"Participation in American government is the glue that holds our democracy together.  While most of us are frustrated or upset at one time or another about the political process, politicians or public policy, it’s still extremely important for Americans to go vote.  It demonstrates our commitment to democracy and that’s what everything we have is based on.”

All ballots must be received by the Douglas County Election Commission, either at its office or one of its drop off locations by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th.

A list of ballot drop box locations is available online at votedouglascounty.com.
