New Culinary Arts building coming to Metro Community College
By Katie Knapp
Omaha, NE – Metropolitan Community College plans to break ground Thursday on the Institute for Culinary Arts and Alumni Conference Center.
The 39,000 square foot facility costs $16 million. Sheila O'Connor, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Metro Community College, says it'll house culinary arts classrooms, labs, and a public bistro.
O'Connor says the new Institute for Culinary Arts not only expands the physical space for that program, but also the number of students it can accommodate. She anticipates more than 1,000 students will be able to take classes at the Institute.
It's scheduled to open in November 2009.
