Omaha, NE – The Douglas County Health Department recently unveiled a new online web portal, www.douglascohealth.org.
Health Matters in Douglas County combines the most current Douglas County data, including health, environment, and education. Dr. Adi Pour, Douglas County Health Director, says it's important to look at the entire community and how issues are connected.
She says the website has a dashboard with more than 100 local indicators. For example, she says individuals can go online and find out how many people in Douglas County have their insurance.
"And it will provide you that information compared to national data. At the same time, the website recognizes that now you are a user that is interested in health insurance so it has a news column that brings up all newspaper articles that are specifically related to your interest."
The website is sponsored by Douglas County Health Department, Live Well Omaha and the three hospital systems: Alegent Health, Methodist and The Nebraska Medical Center.
