New postage stamps honor President Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln, NE – The U.S. Postal Service is out with four new stamps commemorating the life of President Abraham Lincoln.

The four stamps were unveiled Monday during a ceremony at the State Capitol in Lincoln. The stamps depict Lincoln's life in four phases: as a railsplitter, a lawyer, a peacemaker, and at the Lincoln-Douglas debates.

Dave Baylor, Stamp Services Manager at the Postal Headquarters in Washington, D.C., says it's fitting to unveil the stamps with the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth approaching.
