New Programs Join Saturday Lineup

Whad'Ya Know? is ending production.  While we'll miss Michael Feldman and the crew, we're excited to tell you about two new programs that will take their place beginning July 2nd.

A Way With Words
Tune to KIOS at 2:00 p.m. Saturdays to hear A Way With Words.  This weekly, hour-long, caller-based program about language is hosted by author Martha Barnette and lexicographer Grant Barrett.  Each week, they take calls about slang, grammar, linguistic heirlooms, old sayings, word origins, and more.  By looking at the world through the lens of language, A Way With Words offers a brand-new perspective on politics, pop culture, history, sports, music, and more.  Funny, informative, and fast-paced, each episode includes a word puzzle and slang quiz.  If you have a lively curiosity, an appreciation of thoughtful conversation that's well-informed and stimulating, and a healthy sense of humor... You'll love A Way With Words!

Travel with Rick Steves
From 3:00 to 4:00 Saturdays, tune in to hear Travel with Rick Steves, a weekly conversation with guest speakers and callers about travel, culture, people, and the things we find around the world that give life its extra sparkle. Rick Steves is America's leading authority on travel to Europe and beyond.  Host and writer of over a hundred public television shows and author of 30 best-selling guidebooks, Steves now brings his passion for exploring and understanding our world to public radio.  One listener said of the show, "The best thing about Rick Steves is his non-preachy, unpretentious, open minded approach to traveling... He has genuinely come to appreciate and understand the cultures he encounters."
