New Resource Center available for families of autistic children

By Katie Knapp

Omaha, NE – Individuals living with autism, and families of children with autism, have a new comprehensive resource for information.

The Omaha-based Autism Action Partnership launched a new web site and hotline this week. The Resource Center provides information about education, recreation, and therapy opportunities; what autism is and warning signs to look for; support groups for families; and community resources.

Bridgett Cannon-Hale is Director of Programming for the Partnership. She says the goal is to educate everyone about what autism really is, and what's available to help autistic individuals live productive lives. She hopes the Resource Center will help families find all the information they need.

The web site is www.autismaction.org. The hotline is 1-877-273-2271.
