New science center planned for Iowa School for the Deaf

By Dan Locke

Council Bluffs, Iowa – The Iowa School for the Deaf plans to build a state-of-the-art science center for its students.

The $1.5 million dollar science center is scheduled for completion next fall. School officials plan to locate the science center where a swimming facility and locker rooms currently are.

Jeanne Prickett is Superintendent of Iowa School for the Deaf. She says the new science center will give students the tools they need to pursue careers in healthcare, computer science, and many other fields of study.

The announcement was made Friday during ISD's homecoming week.
