New Year, New Business series returns to library

The New Year, New Business series returns to the Omaha Public Library starting tomorrow at Noon.

Mark Sorensen, Business Specialist for the library, says the annual program is offered in partnership with the Small Business Association.

He says the purpose of the program is to help small business owners and those who are dreaming of starting their own business to find resources in town that can help them get started and grow.

Sorensen says the New Year, New Business series will address some of the bigger questions these individuals have including whether they can afford to start a business and if they’re already in business, whether they are on sound financial footing.

"Our first couple workshops we will look at the basics of starting and registering a business.  We will look at financing and funding options including some new and exciting stuff.  We have a crowdfunding workshop presented by UNL’s College of Entrepreneurship and then we will look at how to promote your business with workshops on Facebook for Business and Business Marketing Strategies. Plus, some resources on pricing your goods and services and getting ready to sell them on the federal marketplace too."

Registration is required for every event but all programs are free.

Workshops take place at Noon and last approximately 90 minutes.
