Newspaper vs. Television at KANEKO

As part of their Storytelling series, KANEKO will be hosting a discussion called ‘Newspaper vs. Television’ that brings journalists Matthew Hansen and Joel Geyer together to talk about the two different mediums.

Hansen is a metro columnist for the Omaha World Herald. Geyer is a documentary filmmaker.

The free event will be held Thursday, August 4th at 7 p.m. in the KANEKO building. Michael Hollins, director of programming for KANEKO, explains what the two will discuss…

"Both of these two individuals that have very strong roots to Nebraska and to the community are going to give a public discussion on the differences in their mediums through personal testimony, through insight into the various mediums of the storytelling process that’s tied with both, to kind of discuss how context shapes content when it comes to storytelling.”

Hollins says he hopes people are able to learn more about the storytelling process through this event and gain a better appreciation for stories. For more information, the website is thekankeko.org.
