Nine forums set for public to meet the OPS board candidates

A series of forums are set with the candidates for the nine Omaha Public Schools Board of Education subdistricts.

Legislation passed earlier this year in the Unicameral cut the size of the OPS board from 12 to 9 subdistricts. Three forums will happen Thursday evening and begin at 7pm. They’re sponsored by the Omaha World-Herald and the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce.

Subdistrict 1: Benson High School. Candidates for Subdistrict 1 are James English, Yolanda Williams, Aja Anderson, LeDonna White York, and Larry D. Taylor.

Subdistrict 2: North High School. Candidates are Niokia Stewart, Morghan Price, and Marque A. Snow.

Subdistrict 3: Lewis and Clark Middle School. Candidates are Marian Fey, Bambi Bartek, Bill Hoff, Woody Bradford, and Michael R. Warner.

Forums are also set for Saturday and Tuesday.
