NPR's Toast Of The Nation: New Years Eve Jazz Special

Broadcast begins at 7pm New Year's Eve and runs until 4am January 1st on KIOS By KIOS

Omaha, Nebraska – KIOS will ring in the New Year with another stellar broadcast of Toast of the Nation.

This year's broadcast is the 28th annual celebration. For the first time, Toast of the Nation will ring in the New Year not just coast to coast but from Europe as well.

The broadcast is produced by WBGO-FM
in Newark, New Jersey with Rhonda Hamilton hosting all night from a new location, Yoshi's in San Francisco.

Here is the final lineup of the broadcast:

7:00 p.m. ? The Danilo Perez Trio and Big Band premiere his "Panama Suite" in Boston. Presented by WGBH Radio and the Berklee College of Music, with emcee Eric Jackson.
8:00 p.m. ? Piet Noordijk 75th Birthday Jubilee Concert highlights from Amsterdam, thanks to Radio Netherlands.
8:30 p.m. ? Patti Austin sings "A Gershwin New Year's Eve" at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
10:00 p.m. ? Jazz and Brazil with Trio da Paz (Romero Lubambo, Nilson Matta, Duduka da Fonseca) and pianist Kenny Barron from the Jazz Standard in New York. With emcee Michael Bourne.
11:15 p.m. ? Nachito Herrera and the Steele Family Singers present a tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire at the Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant in Minneapolis. Presented with KBEM.
12:15 a.m. ? The Convergence sextet parties at the Dazzle in Denver. There's a dance floor. Presented with KUVO, with emcee Susan Gatshcet-Reese. [Broadcast in 5.1 Surround Sound]
1:15 a.m. ? The Count Basie Orchestra with special guest Ledisi celebrate the first New Year's Eve at the new Yoshi's in San Francisco. Presented with KCSM and KQED, with emcee Jayne Sanchez. [Broadcast in 5.1 Surround Sound]
