Officials forecast thunderstorms in Nebraska, Iowa

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — Weather officials say severe weather including thunderstorms is expected to hit a portion of Nebraska and Iowa.

The National Weather Service says a tornado watch was in effect until 11 p.m. Thursday for counties in eastern Nebraska and western and northwest Iowa.

Officials say conditions could produce dime-size hail and wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour. The tornado watch includes areas that received extensive hail damage and flooding following severe weather Tuesday.

A hazardous weather outlook report says parts of Minnesota and South Dakota could also be affected.
