Offutt Air Force Base to conduct noisy exercise Thursday

BELLEVUE, Neb. (AP) — Residents south of Omaha are being told not to worry if they see and hear a lot of lights and sirens Thursday.

Offutt Air Force Base says in a news release that it will be conducting an emergency exercise starting at 9 a.m. Thursday.

The exercise will include emergency vehicles responding to the base, as well as some of Offutt's off-base locations. Officials warn that people living and working in and around Offutt may see lights and hear sirens during the day.

Base officials say the exercise is part of normal training, and local authorities have been notified.
