OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. (AP) — The 55th Wing at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha will be participating in a National Disaster Medical System exercise on Thursday.
The exercise is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Simulated patients will be flown in, and Offutt personnel will help local emergency responders take the patients to area hospitals.
Civilians may hear sirens and see emergency vehicles entering and leaving the base, which sits on the south side of the Omaha suburb of Bellevue.
