Omaha bicycling club helps police bike patrol

(Information in the following story is from: WOWT-TV, http://www.wowt.com)

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — An Omaha bicycling club has donated more than $1,000 to help the city's police bike patrol.

The Dundee Chain Gang Cycling Club recently gave the funds to help the Omaha Police Department Bike Patrol. The Bike Rack stores in Omaha and Lincoln also offered bike items at a discounted price.

WOWT reports a cycling club member heard the department needed a bike rack for a squad car. The club's members donated the bike rack and offered to donate additional items.

Craig Kelley, co-founder of the club, says the donation was a way to thank the department for their work on raising bike safety awareness.
