Omaha, Blair colleges sign transfer agreement

By Katie Knapp

Omaha, NE – Metropolitan Community College students who want to transfer to Dana College can do so without losing course credits.

Metro Interim President Randy Schmailzl and Dana College President Janet Phillip signed an articulation agreement Monday between the schools. The agreement means Metro students can continue their studies at Dana College and not have to worry about whether or not classes will transfer.

Schmailzl says agreements such as the one with Dana help students more effectively plan their college careers. Philipp says studies have shown that students who transfer from a two-year school to a four-year school have a higher success rate.

Dana College is located in Blair. This year the College has an enrollment of 550 students.
