Omaha business adds 100 employees over one year

A woman-owned small business in Omaha has seen its workforce grow 60 percent in the past year.

StrategicHealthSolutions, LLC, does contracting work for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. President and CEO Peg Stessman says her company has added more than 100 employees.

She says the work done by StrategicHealthSolutions is unique in Nebraska.

"So the greatest opportunity is to be able to bring work like what we do, where we can bring in individuals who might be subject matter experts, maybe graphic artists, or there could be folks that are data analysts, or medical review nurses and physicians, we’re bringing work to Nebraska that hasn’t historically been done here for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and really expanding on that."

StrategicHealthSolutions’ work focuses on making sure payments are made correctly, and recouping costs when they aren’t.

Stessman says her company’s growth has been a challenge when it comes to infrastructure and finding enough qualified employees.
