Omaha City Councilman Garry Gernandt is set to be released from Alegent Creighton Health Creighton University Medical Center Friday.
Gernandt has been in the hospital since Wednesday afternoon, after he reported feeling ill and having chest pain. CUMC spokeswoman Kathy Niver says Gernandt is in stable condition.
Niver says Gernandt underwent tests today and will not need heart surgery. He’ll be kept overnight at CUMC for observation.
Gernandt was re-elected to the City Council May 14th.
