Omaha closes part of Riverfront Trail

By Katie Schubert

Omaha, NE – Part of Omaha's Riverfront Trail is closed as crews work to remove infrastructure following this summer's Missouri River flooding.

A news release from the city of Omaha says the part of Riverfront Trail from north of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge to west of the National Park Service headquarters will be closed until at least November first. Crews will be removing pipes and pumps installed along the Riverfront to remove standing water from downtown.

A series of pumps were installed at the Burt-Izard lift station along the Omaha riverfront during the summer.
