Omaha Creative Week is underway for the second year

By Cheril Lee

Omaha, NE – For the second year, organizations throughout the city are connecting for Omaha Creative Week.

Omaha Creative Week began Sunday. Shane Bainbridge is with the New BLK Gallery. He says the week is held to bring together the entire Omaha creative scene in a set timeframe. The week of events offers a forum for the organizations to step outside their normal routines, interact with other agencies and begin collaborating on unified projects.

Bainbridge says the week started off with the Stack Un-Conference, where the participants set the agenda for what is discussed, "Encyclopedia show is happening at the House of Loom on Wednesday night from 7 until 9. It's kind of a performance art, improv, spoken word piece. We've got the release party for the Depressed Buttons also happening at Loom on Thursday. And the New BLK is throwing a video art pop up one-night show at the New BLK Gallery on Friday evening."

A detailed list of events is available online at omahacreativeweek.com. Creative Week events continue through Sunday.
