Omaha, NE – The National Trust for Historic Preservation completed a metro preservation assessment report for Omaha by Design.
Omaha by Design was specifically interested in projects, programs and incentives that could result in action plans to assist the Omaha metro area and Council Bluffs in preservation efforts. Director Connie Spellman says the report focuses on three basic themes: infrastructure, incentives and image.
"Preservation has been locked in the past. So much has transpired since those days when the focus was on preserving what we have exclusively, especially individual buildings. Now there's just a whole new awareness and value that surround preservation because it also includes conservation and restoration."
