Omaha Farmers Market returns this weekend

The Omaha Farmers Market starts this weekend.  The Saturday market is held in the Old Market downtown while the Sunday market takes place at Aksarben Village, at 67th and Center Streets.

Kylie Feilmeier, Project Manager for the Omaha Farmers Market, says both markets are open until October 16th.

She says the markets still accept SNAP cards and will swipe them right at the information booths at both markets.

Feilmeier says there will be a special offer for visitors on the opening day of the Saturday Farmer’s Market.

"We are actually doing what we are calling a Deal Day.  We are just trying to help get more people into the Old Market businesses.  Anyone who comes to the market opening day who comes to the information booth and spends $30 or more, on tokens or souvenirs, will get a deal card that has more than 10 participating Old Market businesses and their Deal of the Day…”

Feilmeier says businesses on the deal card include Curb Appeal Salon and Spa, City Limits and Spaghetti Works.
