Omaha Gives grows in its second year

570 organizations are participating in a 24-hour-long giving event this year.

This is the second year of Omaha Gives. By logging on to OmahaGives24.org on Wednesday, anyone can make a donation to one or multiple non-profit organizations. The goals are to bring the community together, and to encourage giving.

Sara Boyd, president and CEO of the Omaha Community Foundation, which hosts Omaha Gives, says Omaha is a generous community when it comes to giving back.

Boyd says last year, all 318 organizations that participated in Omaha Gives received donations. More than $3 million was raised.

More information is available at OmahaGives24.org.

The Friends of KIOS Board is one of the nonprofits participating in Omaha Gives.
