Jan 9, 2014

The FIVB World Grand Prix final round is coming to the U.S. for the first time, and matches will be played in Omaha.

The Omaha Sports Commission announced Thursday that the CenturyLink Center will host the international women’s volleyball tournament in July 2015. It’s the first time the event is outside of Asia or Italy.

Karch Kiraly, coach of the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team, says it's the biggest event to be held in the U.S. other than the Olympics.

The tournament is July 22-26, 2015, one year before the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Tickets will be available starting in June.
