The Omaha League of Women Voters has a guide to help inform voters

During the lead up to the election, most voters have had the opportunity to hear a lot about the candidates running for president, but what about those running in the local races?

The Omaha League of Women Voters offers an online and printed voters’ guide to help you become a better informed voter.

Kathy Dewell, Member of the Omaha League of Women Voters and Chairperson for the Voters’ Guide, says you can view the voters’ guide in a print format or PDF format online at OmahaLWV.org

Dewell says you can also go to Vote411.org, type in your home address and bring up the information only on the candidates and offices that will be on your ballot.

She says with all the information in one place, you can quickly go through and find the candidate that appeals to you the most.

"For Douglas County, we take each of the offices that will be on the ballot and draft a set of questions, generally 3-4 questions per office that we think would appeal to voters or would be questions voters would have or would like answers to regarding each candidate.  And when you think about all the races, there’s school board, there’s utilities, a lot of things outside of just the Presidential and Congressional election.”

Dewell says there are printed copies of the voters’ guide available at Omaha Public Library branches.  New this year, the South Omaha Library branch has a Spanish version of the voters’ guide.
