Omaha, NE – Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle won Tuesday's recall election by more than 2,100 votes.

The Douglas County Election Commission counted 5,225 early voting ballots Friday afternoon. The result of those ballots was an increase in Mayor Suttle's lead to 2,130 votes. The unofficial results mean Suttle won Tuesday's recall election, and will serve out the remaining two years of his term.

Another 700 provisional ballots will be counted next week, with results certified next Friday. This was Omaha's second recall election in 24 years. In 1987, Mike Boyle was recalled.
