Omaha, NE – Omaha's McMillan Magnet Middle School is receiving two federal grants to create safe ways for students to get to school. McMillan was awarded two Safe Routes to School grants. One is for more than $130,000 and will pay for several projects, including expansion of the school's speed zone and establishment of a pick-up/drop-off area.
The second grant, for $15,000, will be used to pay for projects such as establishing a walking club, safety sessions and traffic enforcement.
