Omaha Multi-Sports Complex board seeking a site for the facility

A group wanting to build a new multi-sports complex in Omaha is looking for a site for the facility.

The complex will house tennis courts, soccer fields, a track, and one of the warm-up pools from the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials. Business leaders Mike Cassling and Lisa Roskens announced the multi-sports complex last June.

Roskens says they’re taking requests for proposals over the next six weeks for possible sites. She says the goal is to have the complex open in 2016.

Omaha is in contention for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials. The board hopes the facility can be open by then regardless of whether Omaha hosts the trials again.
