Omaha Performing Arts expands its Broadway Series

Omaha Performing Arts is offering several series once again this season including Dance, Family and the 1200 Club.

Laura Kendall, Vice President of Programming and Education for OPA, says those who purchase season tickets to the Broadway Series will have first access to tickets for HAMILTON, which comes in the fall of 2019.

Kendall says this season’s Broadway series features a mix of shows from the class MISS SAIGON to newer fare like Disney’s ALADDIN.

She says there will also be a couple of shows you may not have even heard of before including COME FROM AWAY and THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG.

"We kick off the series with THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG and this is a slapstick, funny, longest running play right now on Broadway and it still is on Broadway.  And it’s just a charming play.  We are really looking forward to that in October.  COME FROM AWAY is the story of 7,000 passengers, after 9/11, that were rerouted to Gander, Newfoundland.”

Kendall says COME FROM AWAY is a beautiful, inspiring and hopeful story.  Other shows on the series include SCHOOL OF ROCK, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and ON YOUR FEET!, the story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan.
